A Shot of Gin

A white hand holds the book A Shot of Gin, which has a pink and purple front. In the background, pink hydrangea flowers match the colors of the book.

My debut novel A Shot of Gin has been out in the world for a few weeks, and it’s been so fun meeting readers and taking this book back to where it all started: Reno, Nevada!

I’ve always loved urban fantasy, but I wondered if I’d have the chance to write an urban fantasy novel because of the “urban” part. I love visiting cities, but I was pretty sure I wouldn’t live in one for very long. Reno turned out to be the perfect spot for me, and with the casinos, neon, and general weirdness of the place, I knew I had to set a novel there.

I was lucky enough to have several events in Reno, including giving a workshop at Radical Cat, where I was assisted by Brooks (who is available for adoption).

A computer screen displays a PowerPoint, and an orange kitten looks at the PowerPoint.

This week, I’ll be focusing on Pennsylvania events:

  • Signing at Otto Bookstore, October 28, 1-3
  • Spooky Writing at Rider Park, October 28, 4-6
  • A Shot of Gin with Femme Vital, October 28, book party from 8-9, dance party from 11-1 (details on their Instagram)
  • Reading and signing at the Humanities Research Center, Lycoming College, October 31, 3-4

I’ve had a blast sharing the novel with readers in Reno, and I can’t wait to bring it back home to Pennsylvania.

More soon!
